I won for the 2016 “Patterson Pledge” School Library Grants given by James Patterson and Scholastic Book Clubs. I used the money to make the UHS Library Media Center more accessible, comfortable, and welcoming to the students and staff. I bought 8 comfortable chairs that were placed around the room to create cozy spaces to sit, read a book, or chat with a friend or colleague. I also purchased 3 iPads that were mounted in strategic places to be used as dedicated online catalogs, enabling people to easily search and locate books.
